Internships and Graduate Placement

Throughout their studies at CFD, students work closely with a wide range of industry partners to gain the skills and experience necessary for a successful career in the fashion industry.

Years 1 and 2

Developing Essential Skills and Connections

  • Embedded in the General Studies curriculum, students refine their CV and develop effective interview skills to enhance their job search skills
  • Students work on meaningful projects with our industry partners to learn the relevant business and fashion skills and create networks
  • Participating in competitions, exhibitions, and fashion events help students to discover their strengths and build their portfolios
  • Students are supported by CFD to join the Dubai Design and Fashion Council (DDFC) through an MOU. Membership in the DDFC provides students with unique opportunities for networking, internships, and skill-development workshops.

Year 3

Putting Skills into Practice

  • CFD works with students to find suitable internship opportunities, either in the United Arab Emirates or globally, to allow them to apply and extend their skills.
  • After completion of their internship, students will present a reflective report about their experience.

Year 4

Demonstrating your Expertise

  • During their final year of the Bachelor program, CFD students will complete a comprehensive final project, either in Fashion Design or in Fashion Business Management.
  • This final project will be assessed by a panel of industry experts providing the students with valuable realistic feedback and opening doors into the fashion workplace.


Starting your Fashion Career

  • CFD’s support does not end after graduation. Alumni will receive career guidance and access to CFD’s extensive network of contacts.
  • Graduates who wish to start their own fashion brand can make use of the lab facilities at CFD to conduct photoshoots, create prototypes or showcase their collections in our spacious event hall.
