Sustainable Fashion Competition 2019
November, 2019 – Dubai: The College Of Fashion and Design Dubai have been leading in the sustainable fashion segment by activating young designer to think about the future of our planet. These initiatives by CFD have brought to the forefront the creations from talented students.
The finale of the competition was held recently at CFD and judges included; Modupe Omonze, founder of Runway Dubai, Vishnu Sunil, Environmental Research Officer at Emirates Environment Group, Rosemin Madhavi, fashion content creator and influencer and Mudite Grivina, professor at The College of Fashion and Design, Dubai.
Over 100 design entries were submitted and the top three winners were awarded with their certificates and prizes. The second runners-up team of two, Avantika Rajesh and Aqmar Jabeen, got a special CFD gift bag. The first runner-up, Smaya Muhammed, won a short course voucher from CFD while the winner, Muskan Ramesh, walked away with a trophy.
With the sustainable fashion movement taking momentum globally, CFD student activities combine the practical and visionary side of fashion design and encourage creative thinking. CFD are leading the conversation in many spheres of the fashion industry in the region and preparing the next-gen of fashion designers through its ongoing initiatives.
